More HDR 3D Photos

Took these last night.  I think this is the last of the Hurricane Clouds.  They were magnificent while they were here.

HDR without the Sunset.

I thought I should try HDR during daylight, next will be a night scene.

Here is what I shot today.

And not 3D HDR

Thanks Irene !!!

In spite of all the devestation left in the wake of Hurricane Irene, it has disipated into either a Tropical Storm or Tropical Depression, not sure of its actual status at this time.

But she has arrived, or her outer bands have arrived in Ottawa giving us a great diisplay of colours and designs.

I was busy, if you can believe it, washing the dog when my wife calls down that I must see the sunset!  So out goes to dog and off I run across the street to the clearing and got these shots.  Unfortunately no HDRs but the clouds were moving so fast that HDR wouldn't have turned out anyway.

It is just sad that something this beautiful can be so devestating.  I wish everyone on the East Coast well as they pump out the water and return to normal.

Amy and Wayne's Sunset in HDR 3D

Here are the 3D photos taken from the back deck of Wayne and Amy's new home.

This Photo of the "Mighty Machine" is for our Grandson Chase.   Oh Yea, that is the home of the Ottawa Senators Hockey Team, in the background (where it belongs they way they are playing).

So, I can't wait for the next sunset, because Wayne and Amy said I could come back for any photos I want to take.  I am assuming, of course, this invitation includes dinner.  They have, after all, set the standard!

Wayne and Amy's Sunset in HDR 2D

Spent a lovely evening at our Friend's , Amy and Wayne, new home.  They are on the extreme west end of Ottawa and their new house is up on a hill.  All the ingrediants needed for seeing a great sunset.

So, when we received an invitation to dinner I couldn't go without my camera.

Here are the 2D photos I took last night, 3D to follow later today.

Oh... It was a fantastic evening.  Thanks Wayne and Amy (not necessarily in that order).

HDR Sunset over the Ottawa River (2)

Here are more photos I took last night as I watched the sun set on a beautiful day.

I met some lovely people on the beach and they were willing to pose for photos.  NOW... I MUST EXPLAIN ...  This is the first time I tried HDR photos of a sunset and any kind of people photos in such lighting.  All this to explain why my results were so poor.

The lens I use has about 3 mirrors in each of the two lens' and I constantly got lens flares or extreme ghosting rendering the photos unusable.  I am sorry.

I did manage to salvage a couple of the photos.  NOTE TO SELF:  When taking photos of people as the central subject, HAVE THE SUN at you BACK!!!!

Should I ever be fortunate enough to meet you again, I will get better photos.  I would not normally post these photos but I made a promise to you so I hope you enjoy them.

HDR Sunset over the Ottawa River (1)

Went out tonight to take HDR photos of the sunset.  I met some nice people and will post their photos shortly.

I do have other photos of when the sun was higher in the sky and will process and post them shortly.

In the upcoming posts the sun will be higher in the sky so I am hoping to have captured more of the yellows and golds in the sky.  We will see.

Another Day ... Another Dog Walk in the Park

Was out with the dog and got these photos of the local stream and associated "forest".

Soon there will not be one inch of the park I don't have in 3D.

Dabbling in HDR (Again)

On an earlier post I talked about HDR (High Dinamic Range) photos.  This is where you take 3 or more photos with different exposures and merge them together.  Thus you get the best of the dark areas and the best of the bright areas.  Then you can saturate the photo for different effects.

Here is one I have been working on for a while:

Today for the first time I was successful in getting 3D HDR photos.  A llittle bit of work to get them but I now know the procedure and will have to go in search of a great scene worthy of the effort and something that will show off the benifits of HDR.

For now this is all I have:

This final one I took to the max to give you an impression of what can be accomplished through this format of 3D photography.

Today's Photo

While out walking the dog this morning I captured this photo that I thought was rather different.  It is in 3D but with a blurred background.  You can get the feeling and clarity of 3D on the subject yet the background it taken out of the equation because it is out of focus.

Practicing for my orchid photos in Hawaii.  I want to have this technique down pat for the trip.

Another Big Outing with Papa!!

Thanks God for Grand Dads !!  When things get hot, and we get tired, and the baby is mad, NO PROBLEM...  Just call Papa and off the two of us go!

HEY MOM !!!   This tastes better than that stuff you keep shoving in my mouth!

And of course, there is no such thing as an outing with Papa without allowing him his time to take those funny two picture things he does.  So I waited patiently until I was tired then I cried.  That Got his Attention!  That Always Works!

Here are his photos.
