September Team Penning

This weekend I took my Grandson to visit his Aunt Marilyn and Uncle Kurtis with their horses.

Some people mentioned to me they were having trouble viewing the 3D cross eye photos so today I am including Anaglyph Photos, these are the red/blue photos that require red/blue glasses to view.  I know it means you must go and purchase a pair of these glasses but it will ensure everyone can see the photos in 3D.

One nice young lady made it clear that she was not included in my original posts about team penning so she is being featured here today.

September Competition

As I mentioned in one of my earlier posts, I belong to a 3D club and each month they have a photo competition.  Each month we are assigned a new topic to shoot and must present the photo in 3D and it is recommended we show the photo in different 3D formats.  For September we had to shoot something that is round, and I chose the top of the old observatory in Ottawa.

I show my photos on this blog in what is known as cross eye viewing (tutorial on how to view here) but there is a method we all know as "red and Blue" 3D photos.  This is technically known as Anaglyph Photos and I have prepared September's competition photos in Anaglyph so will show it here for you to enjoy.

First the Cross Eye:

Now the Anaglyph which requires the use of red/blue glasses.

Please let me know if any of you would like me to continue to post in Anaglyph (red/blue).  I chose cross eye viewing as it does not require the use of anything special (like coloured glasses) but if a number of you would like me to include this format I will gladly start to post them.

The Mustang (Car)

While at the airshow there were "static" displays among which were various auto collections.  I met this young lady and she was willing to have her photo taken in 3D with her Mustang (Ford).

I told her I would post the photos here so she could see how they came out.

The Golden Hawks

I went to an Airshow in the Nations Capitol yesterday and this is the first of a number of posts that will feature some of the sites;

Today :  The Royal Canadian Air Force Aerial Performance Team - The Golden Hawks.

In 1959 The Royal Canadian Air Force celebrated its 35th anniversary and 50 years of aviation in Canada. To mark that occasion a team called the Golden Hawks was created and was supplied with 6 Canadair Sabre Mk.5 aircraft and later on the Mk6. The airplanes were gold colored and on each side of the body there was a long red - white hawk. In 1960 due Golden Hawks growing popularity the pilots received new red suits and new patch.

Their airshow lasted for 25 minutes. In spite of having been created for only one year, they remained in existence until Feb 7, 1964, when they were disbanded for financial reasons. They had made 317 air demonstrations and in 1960 they became the first RCAF display team to visit the USA. The team also had one support Canadair CT-133 Silver Star (Canadair built under license T-33 Shooting Star) plane, painted in team's colors.

Please Note:  While the team was disbanded this one aircraft has been restored to the original condition and colours of the team.

Central Experimental Farm and Arboretum

Right in the center of the City of Ottawa is our Experimental Farm and Arboretum, and this all sits on the banks of the Rideau Canal.

Today I was out taking photos for a 3D photo club I belong to and took these photos.  I thought I would share them with you.

The 3D club has a monthly challenge and this month we are supposed to take photos of "something round".  I am having a terrible time finding a suitable subject for the contest but I am getting some nice shots to post here.

Once I finally decide what photo I am going to enter into the competition I will post it here for you to enjoy (or not).
