Will and Kate in Canada and in 3D

Many requests have been directed my way for a 3D  photo of Prince William and his wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.  So here it is!

Wildlife on the Greenbelt

Today my wife and I were driving through the National Capital Greenbelt and saw this sight.  Just had to stop and take some shots (photos I mean).

The Greenbelt is a 20,350 hectare band of open lands and forests surrounding the nation's Capital on the Ontario side of the Ottawa River. It was first proposed in 1950 by French planner Jacques Gréber as part of an overall plan to create a beautiful and distinctive setting for the national Capital. The Greenbelt was intended to protect the rural land bordering the Capital from the haphazard urban sprawl typical of so many other cities.

Acting on Gréber's plan, the federal government began acquiring land in 1956. Today, the Greenbelt encircles the Capital from Shirleys Bay on the west to Green's Creek on the east. Most of the total area, or 14,950 hectares, is owned and managed by the National Capital Commission. The rest is held by other federal departments and private interests.

In the Greenbelt, the nation's Capital has on its doorstep a rural environment rich in natural and historic resources. It offers a mix of sights and sounds from rolling farmlands to peaceful forests and wetlands that shelter a wide variety of plant and animal life.

We Turn THREE Tomorrow

Yes, the big day is finally here.  Tomorrow we turn 3 Months old and we are very proud of ourself! 

"Oh yes, and Papa is finally getting the hang of his camera so my photos are looking a little better than before.  Boy it's hard to pose for so many photos while he learns how to work that funny lookin thing!"

Happy Birthday Kayla

Today my daughter turns 21!!!  Yea!!  She has waited a whole 21 years for this day and it has finally arrived. 

We took her out for lunch, as she is busy for dinner and the evening.  Here she is with her GrandMother.

And Finally ... No Wedding photo collection would be complete without a photo of the first dance.  Given the time of night this shot was not possible with my new 3D lens, so...  Here it is in Standard Photo mode.

Cathy and Wayne's Wedding - Cartoon Effects

As I stated a couple of posts ago I am not a professional photographer.  This was only exacerbated by the fact this was my first "real" time using my new Canon and 3D lens.  All this resulted in a number of photos that came out blurry.

A method I have found to restore some of these photos to a state where they are still "usable" is by using an edge identifier and enhancer.  This results in a photo with a Poster or Cartoon look to it.  While this is less than desirable it does allow me to at least present the photos for the sake of memory.  I just wish I had the time and opportunity to have taken more photos and this would not have been necessary.

The effect is evident in some photos more than others, but I hope it has not changed the photo too much.
